About this indicator

What it measures

GDP per resident converted using purchasing power parities (PPP), expressed in current international dollars.

How to interpret it

PPP adjusts for price differences between countries to help compare economic output per person in the same year.

Important limitation

It is not personal income. Current prices do not adjust for inflation over time, so changes are not real growth.

Year-on-year change compares consecutive observed years only. Percentage-based indicators show percentage-point differences; other indicators show percentage change. Missing values remain missing.
